Not only does Control Center take every measure to ensure our products and systems are partners to the environment in which we live, but through our SECOMA™ process we ensure all aspects of safety, protection and ownership are maximized. SECOMA™ is a process of individual analyses that when applied as a set of criteria to design and manufacture of a product or system, produce results that are safe, environmentally sound, and owner/operator friendly. SECOMA™ is your assurance of a system that meets all performance requirements, is easy to operate and maintain, and is a partner to your safety and environmental commitments to your community.
S Safety is foremost in every system design and manufacture, first of personnel, the environment, and then of the equipment itself. Each component is verified against operational criteria as sound and safe, and that all potential dangers have been safeguarded.
E Environmental impact is carefully examined to ensure all materials of construction are both safe to personnel as well as compatible with the fluids and services involved, and that normal life cycle has been determined to be sufficient to avoid potential release of fluids to the environment.
C Constructability analysis considers not only issues and costs associated with initial construction but also those associated with field installation as well as potential concerns arising from future needs to expand or increase capacity.
O Operability is paramount to good system design. This analysis considers all aspects of personnel interface and equipment operation – with specific focus on safety and ergonomics. Equipment that is difficult to operate can contribute to actions resulting in an accident.
M Maintainability is equally important to system design. Cost saving shortcuts often taken in manufacturing can yield costly and time consuming delays during maintenance periods. Consideration must be given to all facets of equipment location and orientation to facilitate access for both routine and unscheduled maintenance activities.
A Ad Hoc “special” or “unique” considerations left unaddressed can turn an otherwise good design bad. These issues are often external to the system and not taken into account during design (e.g.: Seismic Zone, Wind Load, Vibrating Mounting, etc.). Equally important are issues within the boundaries of the system that may cause the customer concern (e.g.: Hazardous Calibration Gases, Nuclear Source Devices, etc.).
SECOMA™ is Control Center’s commitment to your and our most important and valued assets – our people and the environment in which we live. It is also our assurance of a “Value Maximized” system that will serve your company well for many years.
