Control Center provides integrated systems, fluid system and control components, and engineering services to industrial customers in the power generation, petroleum, chemical, aerospace, phosphate, energy, and other industries. Initially a sales rep. and distribution business, Control Center has made significant investments over 45 years to evolve into a Six Sigma and ISO 9001based supplier of value-added products and services.
Based upon our core competencies in fluid systems, instrumentation and controls, and mechanical and electrical engineering, Control Center has focused on three basic business functions:
- Manufactured Products and Systems
- Modernization and Field Services
- Parts Distribution Services
Control Center goes to market directly and through agents around the world. Its primary Industry focus is on Power Generation and Industrial Plants as well as the OEM’s and EPC’s that build the new facilities.
Control Center supplies products and services to many customers such as Siemens Power Generation, General Electric, Progress Energy, NASA Kennedy Space Center, Dynegy, Calpine, FPL Energy Services, Chevron, Phillips Petroleum, Calgon Carbon Corporation, Xerox, Parsons, CH2MHill and many others.
Manufactured Products and Systems includes the following product lines:
- Integrated Skids – Control Center designs and manufactures modular portions of larger industrial projects to the functional specifications or build-to-print drawings from the client. These skidded systems typically control functions such as fuel handling, water, steam, lubrication, compressed gases, fuel blending, and filtration to name a few. As a major integrator for the OEM’s this history is vital to our model going forward in supplying parts, service and modernizations to the end users.
- Flow Systems – Flow measurement and flow control systems provide highly accurate measurements of quantities and pressures of fluid flows. Primary applications include liquid and gas fuel, water and steam injection, steam power augmentation, performance testing flow meters, and gas chromatography. Control Center has been a primary supplier for these metering systems to major OEM’s in the power industry and has systems in more than 175 job sites around the world. We continue to take care of the calibration and maintenance of these systems in many of the installations.
- Panels – Panels are used in the monitoring and controlling of functional systems in a plant. Control Center designs and manufactures mechanical, electrical, and control panels, including fully integrated PLC systems, generator protective relay panels, gauge panels, motor control centers, distributed control system centers, hydrogen control panels, and analyzer cabinets. The Company is qualified to meet hazardous area classification requirements up to Class 1, Division 1, Groups B, C, and D. Our panel shop is UL508A certified, and we also manufacture panels with other agency approvals such as CSA and CE. As an large supplier to the major OEMs in the power industry we have gained invaluable intellect in the care, calibration and warranty related issues regarding this equipment.
Field Services provides consulting and field service engineers/technicians to the power generation, energy, aerospace, chemical, petroleum, process, and other industries worldwide. Specific activities of services segment include operation and maintenance support, modernizations and upgrades, laboratory and field calibrations, instrumentation and controls services, consulting, and field service technicians including welders, tube fitters, instrument control and electrical expertise.
Parts Distribution Services includes supply of industrial process equipment, fluid, instrument and electrical components and parts as well as the sale of parts manufactured by Control Center direct to the end user or to OEM’s. We supply component kits or individual parts for construction, commissioning, and ongoing operations. Several programs that Control Center offers drive cost out of the buying process of spare parts for the balance of plant and auxiliaries. Middle men are eliminated and duplication of spares purchases is avoided by utilization of these programs which reduces the capital deployed for spares. Control Center also provides a 24/7 Special Order Services program (SOS) to deliver parts on an emergency basis. SOS is particularly useful to construction sites and plants during outages.
Technical Qualifications – The Company has and continues to develop state-of-the-art manufacturing technology in welding, fabrication, assembly, and testing. Control Center's quality system conforms to ISO 9001 and when coupled with Six Sigma methodology ensures a robust design, approved manufacturing procedures, and timely completion at competitive prices. We produce equipment to meet ASME, Underwriters’ Laboratories (UL), Canadian (CSA), and European (CE) certification requirements, among other customer-specific and industry standards. These qualifications as well as specific customer and OEM requirements made Control Center the vendor of choice for several Power Plant OEM’s.
Control Center maintains a staff of over 13 engineers – many with advanced degrees and national certifications.
The Company utilizes state-of-the-art design tools such as Pro/Engineer, Pro/Mechanical, Pro/Piping, Auto PIPE, AutoCAD, and other software packages to ensure accuracy and to build efficiency into the design process.
